The Disney D23 Expo crowd went wild on Saturday when Marvel debuted the first footage from "Captain America: Civil War."

Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' President, unveiled the new trailer along with Captain America actor Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie, who plays the character Falcon. The two actors flew in from Germany, where they are wrapping up the last week of production for the trailer premiere. "It's so good. I love it," Evans said excitedly before the footage was shown, as told by Yahoo Movies.

"It's a culmination of everything that has come before in the cinematic universe," Feige tells the D23 crowd as reported by The Guardian. The footage opens with Falcon and Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, teaming up with Captain America to defeat Crossbones (Frank Grillo).

"You know, he remembered you. You're pal, your buddy, your Bucky," Crossbones says to Cap. Brock Rumlow. Crossbones' alter ego first appeared in the 2014 film "Captain America: Winter Soldier" as a member of Captain America's S.T.R.I.K.E. team and as a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative.  Fans may recall from "Winter Soldier" that the Cap is branded a fugitive from S.H.I.E.L.D. when he refused to disclose information to the agency. The Cap then learns that Rumlow is a member of Hydra which he then reveals to his allies including Agent 13 (Emily VanCamp) and Falcon. Rumlow's downfall happens when a helicarrier crashes into Triskelion leaving him injured and burned. Crossbones will be first seen in full costume and gear in "Civil War."

The trailer also insinuates a possible rivalry between two hero parties: Iron Man (played by Robert Downey, Jr.) and War Machine (played by Don Cheadle) against Captain America and the rest of Avengers (Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, Anthony Mackie as Falcon/Sam Wilson and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff). An Avenger versus another Avenger can be seen nearing the end of the "Civil War" trailer.

"Are we still friends?" Black Widow asks Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) mid-battle. "Depends how hard you hit me," Hawkeye responds.

In one scene, on an argument about superhero ethics, Tony Stark (Iron Man's alter ego) tells Steve (Captain America's alter ego), "Sometimes I wanna punch you in your perfect teeth," which gains applause from  the crowd.

The trailer also collected a scene from the "Ant-Man" credits when Steve was trying to establish his identity, with the help of Sam, to Bucky. Another frame shows Bucky fighting alongside Captain America against Iron Man and squad.

Other heroes slated to appear in "Civil War" include The Vision (Paul Bettany) Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) and Marvel neophytes Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman).

"Captain America: Civil War" hits cinemas May 16, 2016.
