"Heroes Reborn" will feel more like "Heroes" Season 10.

This is the message "Heroes" creator Tim Kring told reporters during the NBC party for the Television Critics Association. Kring furthered that if the series continued airing, it would have been the 10th season already.

"I know that sounds a little provocative but the point is, one of the things that we talked about at the very beginning in the writers room was how we wanted every single bit of the mythology to feel as though there was a continuum from the show, and the show picks up five years later. So, ergo, it would be five seasons later and this would be season 10. That was the thinking," Kring explained via /Film.

Kring justified that what seemed to be a time jump is made so that the series will appeal to both the new and loyal viewers of the series. However, he added that for the loyal fans, the film will feature a lot of 'easter eggs' that others may not be able to see.

In addition, /Film reported that according to Kring, some cast members and characters from "Heroes" will return, while Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman), also known as horned-rimmed glasses (HRG), will also be back trying to uncover what happened in the intervening years.

He also discussed a 'seminal event' that started a year before when the show started on June 13. He explained that what happened on the said date is shrouded in mystery especially with the attack that also killed fan-favorite character Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere) who has regenerative powers and cannot be killed unless her brain is destroyed.

"In this series, she (Claire) has died along with many, many other people on June 13," Kring said. "There was an event that happened, which is a mystery. It's a big mystery because we all know that Claire shouldn't die. Don't know how, don't know why? We uncover a lot of that."

Moreover, as cited by Screen Rant, Claire will have an effect in the events of "Heroes Reborn" as her press announcement of her supernatural regenerative power will "set into motion" the events that will take place in the new series.

Screen Rant further reported how the director explained about the return of other "Heroes" characters in the upcoming mini-series. Angela Petrelli's (Christine Rose) prophetic ability and Hiro Nakamura's time travel (Masi Osaka) will be used throughout the story. Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) will also make his presence felt but the protagonist Saylar (Zachary Quinto) will not be back.

"Heroes Reborn's" television premiere is on Sept. 24, 2015, but the first look on the new series will be at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of the event's "Primetime" show.
