Some of us might not remember Sharon Stone's semi-frontal nudity scene when she starred in "Basic Instinct," but who would expect that she would strip off nude for a magazine spread at the age of 57?
US Magazine has reported that the 57-year-old veteran actress will appear on the cover of Harper's Bazaar for its September issue.
Philly.com has learned that the actress was only wearing a few pieces of jewelry and a pair of high-heeled shoes for the shoot. In an interview for that particular saucy spread, the Stone opened up more about her life, her struggles and everything in between.
She also talked about how comfortable she is with her own skin as reported by the Hollywood Life. "I'm aware that my ass looks like a bag of flapjacks, but I'm not trying to be the best-looking broad in the world. At a certain point you start asking yourself, 'What really is sexy?' It's not just the elevation of your boobs. It's being present and having fun and liking yourself enough to like the person that's with you. If I believed that sexy was trying to be who I was when I did Basic Instinct, then we'd all be having a hard day today," Stone was quoted as saying.
The actress also revealed that she has never been asked out, and that most men that she has encountered only found her fun. She also shared that she would ask her friends if they even knew that she's straight (in terms of gender preference).
In one part of the interview, her experience of a cerebral hemorrhage was tackled briefly. She said it took her about two years to be able to absorb the internal bleeding. "My brain isn't sitting where it used to, my body type changed, and even my food allergies are different. I became more emotionally intelligent. I chose to work very hard to open up other parts of my mind. Now I'm stronger. And I can be abrasively direct," she said.
Hollywood Life also discussed in its report that Stone has suffered from a stroke. Before that, she felt unwell for three consecutive days and thought she was dying. The doctor even told her that she could lose her ability to speak.
Stone tells it all in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar Magazine, where she is expected to share more about her life and experiences — particularly those that made her the strong woman that she is today.
