Anna Faris is devastated by cheating rumors surrounding her marriage to fellow movie star Chris Pratt.
The "House Bunny" star said she used to believe there was a grain of truth to tabloid stories regarding high-profile relationships, until her personal life came under the microscope.
During the Televisions Critics Association Stars Party for CBS, Showtime, The CW and CBS Television Distribution on Monday, she said, "I had always kind of believed that part of the rumors of celebrity couples were sort of true because they had never been part of my life. I was like, 'Oh, maybe there's a kernel of truth to that.'"
According to US Weekly, Faris then addressed how hurtful the rumors were. "It's been a little devastating because for us, it's like, 'What the heck?'" she said.
The couple became the focus of a Star Magazine story, which claimed their marriage was on the rocks. The article also fueled rumors of infidelity, alledging Faris feared Pratt was cheating with his "Passengers" co-star, Jennifer Lawrence, after the two were spotted having dinner together.
"Chris and Jen recently had dinner to talk about the movie, and ever since, he hasn't been able to stop raving about how cool Jen is," an insider told the publication. "They share the same goofy sense of humor and make each other laugh."
Star also owed the actor's involvement in the sci-fi adventure flick to his counterpart: "[It is] Jen's insane chemistry that landed him the part in the first place."
The magazine further reported Faris had formulated a plan to keep the "Hunger Games" actress from laying a finger on her husband.
"Anna's a very sweet girl, so rather than lash out in jealousy, she's going to play this very carefully," the insider claimed. "She plans on becoming fast friends with Jen before her filming begins, in hopes that she'll think twice before messing with this married man!"
Faris admitted the lies formulated by Star stung, saying, "This has been blindsiding to us. We have an incredible relationship. It has been weirdly stinging."
The mother of one certainly set the record straight. "I am very lucky that I am with a man [who] values family," she insisted.
Faris and Pratt met in 2007 on the set of "Take Me Home Tonight" and wed in 2009.
