As if "The Voice" could not get any better, Rihanna is set to join the nationally syndicated musical competition.

The Barbadian singer is expected to bring her dynamic vocals and style to the ninth season of the hit singing competition as a key advisor. NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt announced her involvement at the Television Critics Association Press Tour on Thursday in Beverly Hills, Entertainment Weekly reported.

"We landed Rihanna to be the key advisor to all the coaches this fall," he told the press. "This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers."

Coldplay's Chris Martin and country-pop star Taylor Swift previously appeared on the show as advisors.

Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will return as coaches in the upcoming season.

Four new mentors will join the talented coaches in season 9. Last month, it was revealed pop singer Selena Gomez would be joining as a mentor to Stefani. Five-time Grammy award-winning rapper Missy Elliott will mentor Williams, while Credence Clearwater Revival's John Fogerty will be partnered up with Levine, and Brad Paisely will mentor Shelton.

An insider at US Weekly revealed Gomez, 23, quickly became a favorite, despite her vast age difference from the other mentors.

"She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she's so young. She exceeded everyone's expectations," the insider said.

Levine reportedly always wanted to work with Fogerty and considers him a "legend." "John performed at 'The Voice' finale, and that's when Adam asked him to come back this season as a mentor," the insider continued.

Moreover, Shelton supposedly considers fellow country star Paisely as more than a mentor. "Brad was a good friend to Blake, and it was great," the insider said in regards to Shelton's recent split from his wife, Miranda Lambert.

Previous mentors include Lionel Richie, Stevie Nicks, Ellie Goulding and Alicia Keys.

Carson Daly will also return to host "The Voice" season 9, which premieres Sept. 21 on NBC.
