When Will 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Come Out? Gameplay, News & Rumors Here!

Despite being a no-show at the E3 2015 event, “Red Dead Redemption 2” is still rumored to be in development. Fans believe that the Western game will be released some time in 2016.

AnonDN1978, a Reddit user and former Rockstar developer, leaked some details about “Red Dead Redemption 2”, featuring what would allegedly be the new title and characters. John Marston will reportedly be out of the sequel. The rumor was that AnonDN1978 was angry with his boss, which caused him to leak the information. Accordingly, the upcoming game will be titled, “Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West”.

The game is said to become available to current-generation platforms, while the PC version will launch one month after the release on gaming consoles. According to AnonDN1978, the new game will have the same setting as the original, but will happen 12 years before “Red Dead Redemption”. There will be three playable characters, with two coming from the original game and a completely new one.

AnonDN1978 wrote that the two main characters will be Irish and Seth. Irish was raised in Ireland but moved to the Americas when he was 15 years old. He will be 21 years old in the game. Seth is from Kansas City and works as a bank teller. He receives news of a treasure and uses his life savings to bring his family to the town of Tumbleweed in Texas. Seth will eventually lose everything he has, including his family, as he attempts to find the treasure. The third person is a character that players can create. Players can unlock outfits for Seth and Irish, but players reportedly have more leeway in customizing the third character’s clothes and horse. Gamers can also purchase their own safe house to customize. All the changes can be carried over into the multiplayer mode.

The third character is said to be in free roam, with Seth and Irish capable of being called in as companions. There will be several familiar characters from the original game, such as Sherriff, a young Bonny Macfarlane and John Marston. There will be a new gang system, side missions and campaign missions. Coop may be available in the new “Red Dead Redemption 2”.

DSO Gaming, however, mentioned that the rumor from AnonDN1978 is probably false and written to gain more attention. AnonDN1978 shared the supposedly leaked information in another sub-reddit using a different title, which can indicate that the details are generally fabricated.
