Everyone's favorite tomb raider officially got reboot a few years back and the reboot for Lara Croft was a huge success.

Riding on that success, Dark Horse Comics is now working on a comic book that will return Croft to her original Tomb Raider costume that fans of the series grew up with. According to IGN, the comic book series will be named "Lara Croft and the Frozen Omen" and will be a five issue mini-series.

News Rama reports that Crona Bechko, writer of the "Star Wars Legacy" series, and Randy Green, the artist behind several "Witchblade" issues are working on the comic. News Rama had a chance to interview Bechko on her inspiration behind the mini-series and what she has in store for the archeologist / adventurer.

Bechko states that she grew up playing the "Tomb Raider" franchise when it first came out in the late 90's and she was excited about Lara Croft pacifically. At the time it was a rare site having a female lead character who wasn't frail or who didn't need a male counterpart. Lara was groundbreaking in a way because she was so strong willed and fun to play. Bechko says that she too was taking a few archeology and anthropology classes too at the time "Tomb Raider" hit its height of popularity so she really connected with Croft.

The story of "Lara Croft and the Frozen Omen" will take place shortly after the events of "The Temple of Osiris" video game. The character of Carter Bell will also be accompanying Croft on the adventure. According to the interview with Bechko the pair will find themselves in a jungle in Belize as well as a desert in Arizona. However, the specifics on how they will get to the frozen part of the story was playfully not specified as Bechko jokes that readers will just have to go along with the ride to see how they get there.

Bechko isn't the first woman to write for the Lara Croft character, and she believes that a woman writer brings more of believability to the role. When asked about Green, Bechko thinks that the artist's work is very captivating and so beautiful that she can't wait for the world to see what they have come up with.

"Lara Croft and the Frozen Omen" will be available for paper purchase or digital download on Wednesday Oct. 7, 2016.
