The NBA schedule for the 2015-16 NBA season is expected to be released by next week but this early, the word around is that fans will be treated to a stellar match on December 25, Christmas Day.

The match in mention is a possible rematch between the two protagonists of the recently concluded NBA Finals – the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers which will be held in Oakland.

Such remains tentative for now and all would depend on the final NBA schedule which is expected to be released next week.

Tentative NBA schedules are released in advance ahead of the full one though that matchup between the two teams should be an interesting matchup that NBA fans are bound to approve.

The rematch should be something pretty interesting, with both teams practically carrying the same players from their finals clash.

The Warriors had earlier released David Lee who is now with the Boston Celtics in exchange for Gerald Wallace.

Wallace would however be involved in another transaction and eventually sent to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for a much younger Jason Thompson.

As far as the Cleveland Cavaliers are concerned, majority of the main guns have already been secured except for Tristan Thompson and possibly J.R. Smith.

LeBron James and Kevin Love have re-signed new pacts and will lead a cast of returnees that include Kyrie Irving, Timofey Mozgov, Matthew Delladedova and Iman Shumpert.

Thompson has yet to come to terms with the Cavaliers though it is believed that it could be resolved soon. As far as J.R. Smith’s case is concerned, the case is different.

After opting out of his original contract, the question of pay could become a problem considering that the Cavs are working on a tight salary budget.

Smith, who would have earned $6.4 million had he opted in, is someone Dan Gilbert and the Cavs want to bring back. But at the rate that the team has been handing out contract amounts, Smith could end up earning less than that if he does want to rejoin the team.

New faces on the Cavs roster include veteran Richard Jefferson and possibly Sasha Kaun if the Russian player agrees to play at a league minimum.

Of the two teams, it seems that the Warriors are more settled heading into training camp. The Cavs have yet to finalize their cast though all that could be settled in the coming days.
