Whether you're a fresh graduate or someone who wants to switch jobs and work from home, getting employed shouldn't be hard as long as you have everything prepared before you send your applications.

Though it may appear as a convenient choice, working from home entails your 100 percent commitment - it is not for everyone, and if you get easily distracted, then you can just forget about it.

Aside from having the required skills, you should also have the right mind set. Here are a few tips that will help you succeed in this line of work.

1. Be mentally prepared - Working from home can be stressful at times, especially if you have children, even more so, when you have a baby. Employers know that and for example, during a job interview, which is usually done via Skype or other messaging tools, they will ask how you will manage your time and get work done even with the demands of being a 24/7 mom. Will you be able to give a straight answer? Do you have enough drive to really start working from home? Some of the work from home scenarios that you could encounter can be found here.

2. Join social media groups dedicated to the work from home community - A lot of work at home individuals belong to different online groups where they can discuss their experiences and struggles. Check them out so you will have an idea of what you're getting yourself into. Most of the time, they post job availability, too. If you're using Facebook, just use the search option so can start browsing the groups.

3. Prepare/Update your resume - When you feel in your heart that working at home is what you really want to do, it's time to think about your skills and create an amazing resume. Make sure it stands out above the rest. Highlight your competence and don't forget to discuss how you're going to manage your time effectively. If you've had a couple of published work, you can also create an online portfolio so your clients can easily gauge your level of expertise. Remember, salary offers are commensurate to skills.

4. Start job hunting - A lot of jobs are being offered online and you can find the list of some of the in-demand jobs available these days here.
