Experts have claimed that listening to an Adele song can cause a biological phenomenon known as "skin orgasms."

A new paper, titled "Thrills, chills, frissons, and skin orgasms: toward an integrative model of transcendent psychophysiological experiences in music," explains why people get goosebumps while listening to the British artist's 2011 hit, "Someone Like You."

Such intriguing study was carried out by musician and psychologist Psyche Loui and Wesleyan University student Luke Harrison.

The research claims that music "has a unique power to elicit moments of intense emotional and psychophysiological response," and the tingly feelings and chills that listeners get "are subjects of introspection and philosophical debate, as well as scientific study in music perception and cognition."

"Sudden changes in harmony, dynamic leaps (from soft to loud), and melodic appoggiaturas (dissonant notes that clash with the main melody, like you'll find in Adele's 'Someone Like You') seem to be particularly powerful," BBC's David Robson notes.

In other words, musical features of Oasis' "Wonderwall," Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On," as well as classical masterpieces by Bach and Rachmaninoff, can cause the "skin orgasms."

"Musical frisson elicits a physiological change that's locked to a particular point in the music," says Loui.

Meanwhile, Adele might drop her highly anticipated third studio album, which is rumored to be titled "25," this September, according to fellow Brit Naughty Boy.

In an interview with The Sun, via Contactmusic.com, the English producer revealed that he has been working on Emeli Sandé's upcoming sophomore record and pushed back its release date until 2016 to avoid a clash with the "Rolling in the Deep" hitmaker's latest project.

"They can't go against each other," he said. "Nobody wants to."

"Adele's album is coming in September and labels have cleared their schedules because they know it's going to wipe the floor," he added. "Emeli's album is coming out next year now. It sounds amazing."
