New details regarding the much anticipated "Ash vs Evil Dead" TV series from Starz have been unveiled.

It seems that the "Ash vs Evil Dead" TV series could be the start of a possible movie series as Sam Raimi admitted that he would love to make more "Evil Dead" films in the future.

According to Slash Film, Raimi stated that he has not ruled out the possibility of him making more "Evil Dead" movie in the future even though they are focusing on the "Ash vs Evil Dead" TV series right now.

Raimi notes though, that he would only make more "Evil Dead" movies if Bruce Campbell starred in it and Rob Tapert produced it.

"I'd love to direct if Bruce is starring in it and Rob was producing it, yeah," Raimi said.

In fact, Raimi notes that the "Ash vs Evil Dead" TV series came about because the "Evil Dead" movie they were planning was "too big" to be on a single movie.

Raimi said that the "Evil Dead" movie script they have planned was deemed too big by producer Rob Tapert as the latter suggested to consider turning the film into a TV series instead. Tapert noted that TV has expanded up to the point that almost anything could now be done on the platform and that they could give the audience what they want. He points out the Starz TV series "Spartacus" as an excellent example of this.

"First my brother Ivan and I wrote a movie," Raimi said. "It was too big and unwieldy. Then our partner Rob Tapert said, 'Why don't we make it as a TV show? I've had some great experiences in television, [like] Spartacus. The threshold of what you can show on TV [has increased]. We can give the audience what they really wanted, which was Bruce Campbell as Ash. TV is about character. This is an opportunity to let him talk which Bruce loves to do. Starz said that's exactly what we want to do."

As confirmed by Bloody Disgusting, Sam Raimi will direct the first episode of "Ash vs Evil Dead."

"Ash vs Evil Dead" stars Bruce Campbell as Ash Willams, Lucy Lawless as Ruby, Jill Marie Jones as Amanda Fisher, Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell.

The "Ash vs Evil Dead" TV series is set to premiere this October on Starz and it would have a 10-episode season.
