How does it feel to have your own words fed right back to you after a crushing defeat?

Brazilian fighter Bethe Correia may be the best person to answer that question these days after she figured in a 34-second defeat at the hands of UFC female bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey.

According to FOX Sports, Correia indulged in much pre-fight trash talking and even did so in Portuguese in the presence of her opponent during the weigh in. Rousey had admitted that she did not understand what the Brazilian contender said because she does not understand Portuguese. However, she soon rectified her initial ignorance.

"At some point between Friday's weigh-ins and the fights on Saturday, Rousey got Correia's words translated and she turned them around on her in a big way after landing a vicious knockout at just 34 seconds into the first round," the news source said.

"I said the exact same thing she was saying to me at the weigh-ins when she was screaming in my face at weigh-ins," Rousey told the press after the fight. "She was saying 'Don't cry'."

"So I turned around to her after I knocked her out and I said 'Don't cry'," she revealed.

Apparently, Rousey refused to indulge in further trash talk as she said that Correia's defeat means that the matter is "settled" and that there is no need to dwell on the issue any longer.

"I'm not going to have to think about her ever again after this day and I'm sure she'll have to think about me plenty. As far as I'm concerned, it's over and done with," Rousey declared.

"Correia's barbs may have been intended to try to get inside of Rousey's head, but the only thing they did was add fuel to the UFC star's fire," Bleacher Report observed.

The sports news portal also noted that Correia did not regret what she told Rousey even after her loss.

"I don't regret anything. Everything I said was very sincere," Correia was quoted as saying. "It was my point of view and what I believed in. I think I did a great job. The event was wonderful. It wasn't the result that I wanted, but I think everything that I said was something that I thought."

Currently, Rousey has her eyes set on beating Miesha Tate, her next opponent. She reportedly said that "beating Miesha seems to be good for both of our careers," according to Mashable.

Will Tate engage in a round of pre-fight trash talk with "Rowdy"? We'll find out soon enough.
