The latest buzz on the '50 Shades of Grey' casting front has Hollywood-bred actress Rumer Willis as a possible candidate for the role of Anastasia Steele. The actress, whose parents are actors Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, was caught reading the third book in the erotic thriller series while on vacation with boyfriend Jayson Blair, the Daily Mail reported.

According to Gather Entertainment, the 24-year-old actress could use her parents' star power to get the highly coveted role. However, Willis may have other obstacles in getting the part, Gather Entertainment said. Not only does she face "formidable competition in other actresses favored for the role," but she may be "a bit too edgy to play the part," it said.

Competition for the role of Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of E.L. James' bestselling novel has been rough. Actresses Alexis Bledel, Ashley Greene and Nina Dobrev are among the top fan picks for the role, according to an ongoing poll by Latinos Post.

Bledel, who's most recognized for her role as Rory on 'Glimore Girls,' has persistently lead in fan polls for the role of Ana, the young subservient lover of Christian Grey.

Rumors surrounding who will play the lead role of Christian Grey have also run rampant, with several actors being touted for the role. Among the fan favorites are vampire-playing actors Ian Somerhalder and Alexander Skarsgard, as well as 'White Collar' actor Matt Bomer.

However, fans may have to wait a while to find out who will play the two coveted roles as the film still does not have a completed script. Earlier last month, producers Dana Brunetti and Mike De Luca announced they had chosen screenwriter Kelly Marcel ('Terra Nova') to write the film's script.

The Universal Pictures and Focus Films, which own the rights to the film, have yet to set a release date for the first film in the series.
