Sonic and Mario used to be video game rivals, but for years the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has co-existed comfortably on Nintendo consoles. It seems that that relationship will continue as Nintendo will be the first to get the upcoming Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

The PS 3 and Xbox 360 will not get the title until two days after the Wii U launch, which bodes well for Nintendo. The racing title is a mascot-based kart racer which features a number of Sega's major mascots as playable characters. Players will be able to choose characters from the Sonic franchise, Super Monkey Ball, Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, and Skies of Arcadia among others.

A recently released trailer showcased all the features that Wii U would include and it gave off the impression that Sega was attempting to take advantage of the Wii U's GamePad. Players will be able to use the tablet controller as a rear-view mirror to see what characters are in pursuit, track weapons fired, or simply view the map off of it. Players can also switch from playing off the TV to directly on the Gamepad. Players can also choose to use the gyroscope on the GamePad and simply move by shifting the Pad from side to side. The title will also feature new multiplayer modes and enables for up to five local racers and 10 online racers at once.

The title comes out on November 18 with the Wii U.
