When an inexpensive comedy movie, such as "Neighbors," makes a lot of money in the box office, a sequel usually follows. Since the movie proved to have both qualities, "Neighbors 2" is on the way to cinemas by summer next year.

There have been rumors about the sequel since June 2014. Screen Rant said that any news pertaining to "Neighbors 2" went slow until recently. "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" was the movie title confirmed by Production Weekly with Chloë Grace Moretz as the new addition to the cast.

With the casting of Moretz and the movie's subtitle, there's a fair grasp of the plot. Instead of a fraternity, Moretz and her sorority sisters will move to the house right next to Seth Rogen and Rose Bryne's home from the first movie. When dealing with the sorority proves to be more difficult, the couple will turn to former neighbor/troublemaker Zac Efron for help. Chaos and mayhem is expected to happen.

Moretz was given the role of the movie's antagonist. "Neighbors" garnered an R rating in the past, so Moretz should feel right at home on the sequel. As the highly acrobatic and foul mouth Hit Girl from the movie Kick-Ass, Moretz could bring a new kind of nefarious humor to the sequel.

Consumers might think that "Neighbors 2" is just recycled material from a highly successful movie. Tinseltown has had the same tendencies in the past with sequels that aren't just as good as the original. The cast and crew of "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" would have a challenging hurdle to overcome the first movie's success of $268 million gross from an $18 million budget.

Although it would probably be a PG 13 movie, fans are still excited to see a more female-centered side of this franchise. With the movie centering around Mortez as a Sorority Girl, this could also mean that Seth Rogen might become a sidekick to Rose Bryne.

With the cast reunited and a new villain added, Nicholas Stoller will once again return to helm the sequel. Stoller also co-writes the script alongside Andrew Jay Cohen, Brendan O'Brien, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

With Moretz's girl power as an addition to the movie, Stoller aims to replicate the success of "Neighbors" last year with the same low budget concept. Hit or miss, "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" will open on May13, 2016. There has been no word if Efron will return for the sequel or not.
