Prince George turns two years old on July 22, 2015. Photos of the royal toddler was recently released to mark his special day.

BBC News reported that an official photo of Prince George was released as he celebrated his second birthday on Wednesday. Fashion photographer Mario Testino took the picture, featuring the blonde toddler beaming in the arms of his father, Prince William. In the photo, Prince George was wearing red and white and appeared to be leaning towards the camera as his father was carrying him. Prince William was smiling fondly at his son and had a navy blue suit and red tie on.

The photo was captured after the christening of George’s baby sister, Princess Charlotte, on July 5, 2015. The shot was taken in the gardens at Sandringham House, on the Norfolk estate of Queen Elizabeth II. More official photographs were taken by Testino that day after Charlotte’s baptism.

“This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for the duke and duchess and their family,” a Kensington Palace spokeswoman said in the same BBC News report.

The palace’s official Instagram page also posted the photo with the caption, “Look who’s turning two tomorrow.” The post has gained nearly 87,000 likes as of this writing.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will most likely host a low-key party to celebrate their firstborn’s birthday at Anmer Hall, their Norfolk home, since Prince William is still adjusting to his new job as an East Anglian Air Ambulance helicopter pilot.

Telegraph revealed that in 2014, Prince George had a bigger birthday party. The Irish Guards at Kensington Palace played “Happy Birthday” for the young prince. George also had a party at the Middleton’s in 2014, which featured a Peter Rabbit theme. The Middleton family operates a successful family business providing party supplies so throwing special birthday events is quite usual to them.

This year, he will have a more modest celebration at his parents’ country retreat. George’s grandparents, Michael and Carole Middleton will visit, as well as Aunt Pippa, his godparents and a number of friends. Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will not attend, however, since they will be making an official visit to the West Country. Even Prince William might not be able to make the party due to work commitments.

ET Online wrote that earlier in July 2015, Prince William shared about fatherhood and how having two children equates to big responsibilities, especially when George is around.
