It seems that Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman can't catch a break as not only are fans hounding her for her looks, DC own Grant Morrison has also dropped his two cents on the issue stating that her portrayal of Wonder Woman is wrong.
It is no secret that Warner Bros casting of Gal Gadot as the Amazon, Wonder Woman has been very controversial and that even though the recent "Batman V Superman" comic con trailer has won over some fans, some people are saying that she is still not fit for the role.
DC's Grant Morrison also weighed in on the issue stating that Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is not what the original creators of the character meant for her. Morrison notes that while Wonder Woman is a warrior, she is meant to be something more than that.
Citing Morrison's interview with Nerdist, Franchise Herald reports that Morrison has openly stated what he thinks of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and he is not happy about it.
"I can understand why they're doing it, I get all that, but that's not what [Wonder Woman creator] William Marston wanted, that's not what he wanted at all! His original concept for Wonder Woman was an answer to comics that he thought were filled with images of blood-curdling masculinity, and you see the latest shots of Gal Gadot in the costume, and it's all sword and shield and her snarling at the camera. Marston's Diana was a doctor, a healer, a scientist," said Morrison.
However, Gal Gadot took all the comments in stride, saying that criticism is part of being exposed for the role. Franchise Herald also reports that Gal Gadot's scenes in "Batman v Superman" won't include major fight scenes aside from the one shown on the trailer.
Citing KpopStarz, Franchise Herald reports Gadot is done filming scenes from the movie and that she will not be doing any major fight scenes in the film aside from the featured fight in the trailer. Franchise Herald further states that Gadot is still training to achieve a better physique for future films.
As reported by Screen Rant, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be in theatres on March 25, 2016 followed by "Suicide Squad" on Aug 5, 2016, followed by "Wonder Woman" on June 23, 2017. "Justice League" will hit theaters on Nov 17, 2017, followed by "The Flash" on March 23, 2018. "Aquaman" will premiere on July 27, 2018, followed by "Shazam" on April 5, 2019 then by "Justice League 2" on June 14, 2019. Meanwhile, "Cyborg" should be expected on April 3, 2020, followed by "Green Lantern" on June 19, 2020.
