"Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void" will be the final instalment for the Starcraft 2 trilogy. This features the story mission of the Protoss race, with the Dark Templar Zeratul as the main character.

For over 10 years, fans have waited for a sequel to the beloved Blizzard Entertainment game Starcraft. In 2010, their prayers were answered when Blizzard finally released "Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty."

The game features returning character, Jim Raynor. "Wings of Liberty" follows the exploits of Jim Raynor, now a mercenary, taking jobs for money to buy upgrades and units. Raynor travels from planet to planet, fighting the Zerg and the Terran Dominion lead by Arcturus Mengsk, while searching for a way to return Sara Kerrigan to her human self. Raynor succeeded in his mission and the final cut scene showed Jim carrying Sara in his arms.

The second instalment of Starcraft 2 is an expansion pack, titled "Heart of the Swarm." This features Sara Kerrigan and the Zerg army, now without a queen. Her mission is to unite the Zerg once again under her command. Being human again, she only holds some of her Zerg powers. The former Queen of Blades was visited by another returning character, Zeratul, who tells her that she needs to regain her powers as she is the last hope for every living being on the galaxy. Amon, an ancient being from a race known as a Xel'Naga, threatens the entire galaxy by creating Protoss-Zerg hybrids.

Sara Finally reunited the Zerg, killed Mengsk, and then thanked Jim Raynor for his help. The Queen of Blades then prepares herself to face Amon, a battle that will decide the fate of the entire galaxy.

The final Instalment is a stand-alone expansion titled "Legacy of the Void." This will feature the story mission of the Protoss, with the Dark Templar Zeratul as the main character.

According to IGN, the expansion will not be released until later this year. With that said, consumers can pre-order the game in either the standard version that costs $40 and comes with the three-mission prologue titled "Whispers of Oblivion." The deluxe edition for $60 comes with the same feature plus additional goodies for other Blizzard games such as a mount for World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Protoss-themed portraits and unit skins in Star Craft II.

Forbes reported that there is really no significant advantage for consumers to pre-order the game as they will still get the same thing if they buy the Collector's Edition.

The real advantage in pre-ordering the game is that the consumers can play it in advance. "Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void" is set for release later this year.
