Studio Naughty Dog developers revealed that “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” will be delivered to the PlayStation 4 in real-time.

Anthony Newman, co-lead designer of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End”, discussed with Wil Wheaton how current-generation hardware allowed the development team to use new features in the game franchise. Because of the availability of new technology, Newman shared that they are able to improve visually in terms of the animation and cut scenes. Previously, the developers shared their visual plans and explained the rendering process, showing how they can make Nathan Drake seem like the same character during the actual gameplay, as well as the cut scenes.

"We're actually doing real-time cutscenes in Uncharted 4, which is a new step for us. You're not going to see those black bars that we used to have in between gameplay and cutscenes. That's going to let us be so much more expressive and really get that seamlessness between the storytelling and the gameplay. Which we already do very well, but it's going to allow us to take it to that next level,” Newman said in a report by IGN.

"That super great-looking Nathan Drake that's in the cutscenes--that's going to be the guy you have the whole time. The lighting model is nearly identical. All of that emotion you get across in the cutscenes, you'll have in gameplay all the time,” he continued.

“Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is expected to launch during the first half of 2016. The trailer was presented at E3 2015 in June. The demo featured Drake engaging a number of enemies and finding his long-lost brother Sam.

In a PlayStation blog, Sid Shuman shared that “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection” will also bring the three classic titles, “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune”, “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves” and “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception”, in remastered versions playable on the PlayStation 4.

Gamers should expect significant upgrades especially in the graphics of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” and “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection”. The new 1080p resolution and huge framerate will guarantee that the classics will be rendered in great detail and quality like never before. Naughty Dog is reportedly improving the environment textures, character models, lighting and special effects. There are also expected enhancements in the control scheme and mechanics for better gameplay, based on the same blog.

More news and details about “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is expected in the coming months.
