'Arrow' Actor Stephen Amell Working With WWE Soon?

Stephen Amell will always be immediately associated with the hit TV series, "Arrow," though the actor is expected to take on an even bigger role with the upcoming movie, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2."

Amell, who plays Olive Queen in "Arrow," will be taking on the role of Casey Jones in the TMNT sequel. He was on hand at Comic-Con in San Diego recently but aside from his acting stint, an old question tying him up to the WWE resurfaced.

Was there any truth to the rumor that Amell would be facing off against Cody Rhodes aka Stardust?

To recall, rumors of such a match between Amell and Cody Rhodes came out before. It was widely believed that Amell and Cody would be involved in a match at WWE SummerSlam though there is no indication that such a match will take place.

Amell and Rhodes crossed paths during a previous episode of WWE Raw and apparently that confrontation sparked rumors of a possible appearance by the Arrow star.

“I’m not not gonna wrestle Stardust at SummerSlam. I know that double negatives in the English language are a no-no. I’m probably gonna do some stuff with the WWE. I don’t know if that means a wrestling match. We’ll see,” says Amell during an interview.

Amell is an avid WWE fan and surely an opportunity like this is something he is unlikely to pass up. Though there is still time to make the match happen, Cody hasn’t been seen lately since his dad, the great Dusty Rhodes passed away.

For now, there is no timetable or indication on when Cody Rhodes would be returning to the WWE scene which technically scraps any hope of seeing the said match take place at WWE SummerSlam which will take place in August.

Rhodes was last caught in a feud with brother Goldust (Dustin Rhodes) where their father had a part in the said storyline. Both had been performing as a tag team before the partnership was eventually dissolved earlier this year.

The two faced off at WWE Fastlane with Goldust snagging the victory over Stardust. The dissolution was believed to be part of Goldust plans to retire while Cody Rhodes continued on his singles career.

All those plans have however been put on hold with the untimely demise of their father.

As for Amell, it seems that nothing tying him to the WWE will happen for now unless he gets involved with another WWE superstar (like maybe the Miz?)

The Miz was the first one to comment on Amell’s WWE Style Promo at Comic-Con of his Green Arrow character, though it doesn’t seem (for now) that the Miz could be tied up with any storyline with Stephen Amell.
