There were no slow starts this time for Serena Williams and such resulted in a lopsided win over archrival Maria Sharapova.

Williams advanced to the 2015 Wimbledon Final by mangling Sharpova (6-2, 6-4). The win allowed Williams to barge into the finals and her 17th consecutive win against Sharapova. The last time that Sharapova won over Williams was way back in 2004.

"Whenever I know I have to play Maria, I know I have to be focused because she wasn't the best in the world for no reason," says Williams after her triumph.

With Sharapova out of the way, Williams tries to complete the “Serena Slam” for the second time and more importantly win her 21st major.

To do that, Williams will have to deal with a rising young star in Garbine Muguruza.

Muguruza advanced to the 2015 Wimbledon Final after defeating Agnieszka Radwanska, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. This will marks the first time that the 21-year-old Muguruza has gone beyond the second round, a feat that surprised even her.

“I don’t have words to explain it,” she said after the match. “I worked all my life to achieve this moment.”

Aside from that, Muguruza also becomes the first Spanish woman to make a grand slam final. The last was Conchita Martinez who did the trick 15 years ago. Martinez is Muguruza’s Fed Cup captain.

However, Muguruza can make her feat all the more memorable as she bids to become only the second Spanish woman to possibly win Wimbledon. Martinez achieved the feat in 1994.

"You work all your life to achieve a grand slam final," Muguruza, the winner of one career title to Williams' 67, told reporters. "It's like a dream, a present after the hard work."

It may be a tall order for Muguruza to face Williams who has been there before. The Spanish player will have to find a way to handle Williams’ killer serves.

However, it will not be the first time that Williams and Muguruza will be facing off, both having met at the French Open last year. Muguruza came out the winner as she topped Williams (6-2, 6-2) which she did in just 64 minutes. Now may be a good time to recall how she was able to pull it off.

Heading into the 2015 Wimbledon Finals, Muguruza does enter it as a heavy underdog. She lacks the power to stand up to Williams though her flat ground strokes from the back court could certainly come in handy if needed.

Top seed Serena Williams and no. 20 seed Garbine Muguruza clash for the 2015 Wimbledon Women’s title this Saturday, July 11 in the 2015.
