The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been the smartphone of the year, outselling even the iPhone in Q3. The handset recently surpassed 30 million sales, but sadly many of these Galaxy S3 users are still waiting for their Android Jelly Bean update. For those of us in the United States, detail are scant on carrier releases, but a new leak indicates AT&T might join Sprint next week as the only two carriers to have Jelly Bean out for the Galaxy S3.

According to the folks from PopHerald, which received an anonymous tip, AT&T could be rolling out Android 4.1.2 for their Samsung Galaxy S3 next week. As the nation's second largest mobile service provider, this news should make a lot of mobile users happy. This would also make Jelly Bean available to AT&T customers

At the end of October, Sprint released an Android 4.1.1 upgrade for their Galaxy S3 users. AT&T's release will be more up-to-date since it will be Android 4.1.2.

A recent firmware leak showed that Verizon is hard at work on a Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update. The leak indicated that a Verizon Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update could be out by the end of November, although this is all speculation, and Verizon has been known to be incredibly slow with software updates.

Carriers T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular have yet to release any details regarding Jelly Bean for their Galaxy S3s.

U.S. Galaxy S3 owners can regularly check the official Samsung US update page to see if their carrier has released Jelly Bean or not.

International owners have been a little more lucky, with Jelly Bean available in most major markets already. Website YouMobile keeps an updated list, which you can check to see if Jelly Bean has been released in your country.

Let's hope the Android 4.1.1/4.1.2 updates roll out sooner rather than later, since Google is set to launch Android 4.2 next week. A recent report also suggested that the Galaxy S3 would receive Android 4.2 in Q1 2013.
