WWE Battleground is fast approaching and one of the most awaited matches is that much delayed rematch pitting current WWE Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins against the man he won the belt from, Brock Lesnar.

To recall, Rollins own the WWE title when he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase at Wrestlemania 31 when Lesnar and Roman Reigns were locking horns. Rollins saw the opportunity with Lesnar and Reigns battered badly, curb-stomping Reigns and copping the WWE title.

Technically, Lesnar didn’t lose the title to Rollins on even grounds and the Beast Incarnate is furious. Lesnar had demanded a rematch on the RAW show following Wrestlemania 31 but as everyone knows, Rollins conned Lesnar and said he would give the rematch at the appropriate time.

It seems that the appropriate time is at WWE Battleground with the WWE Heavyweight Title on the line.

Sans the outside interference and help from the Authority, it seems almost imminent that Lesnar will hand Rollins a beating. But then again, it would be wise to take note that the battle is a standard match - meaning Rollins can still weasel his way out of it with a disqualification win. A title can only change hands via pinfall or submission. Hence, Rollins will retain his title and frustrate the Beast Incarnate once more.

If that happens, there is no telling if there will be another match in the works, possibly at WWE SummerSlam slated for August. If ever, could it be a multi-wrestler match?

If Rollins prevails, there is a possibility that he could end up in another feud. Of course, this could douse that earlier rumor which would see him feud with WWE COO Triple H - a storyline many speculate could happen at WWE SummerSlam.

If Lesnar wins, the storyline could end right then and there and wouldn’t be much of a surprise. So if one takes it from an anticipative prospective, chances are Rollins will retain the WWE title.

If Lesnar falls short, some feel that he will be eased out of the WWE title picture. That could perhaps happen but not immediately. WWE SummeSlam could feature Lesnar and Rollins once again though making it a multi-wrestler match should not come as a surprise.

Why would Lesnar want a SummerSlam match for the title?

To recall, it was during the 2014 edition of WWE SummerSlam where Lesnar first captured the title. Lesnar dominated Cena with 16 suplexes and two F5s, one of the most lopsided matches the WWE has had.

Hence, if Lesnar loses to Rollins, don’t expect it to be the last between the two.

WWE Battleground takes place on July 19, 2015 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri and will be aired live on the WWE Network.
