A few months ago, a number of documents detailing the upcoming Xbox 720 also mentioned a new franchise entitled Destiny that will be developed by Bungie Studios.

According to Kotaku the title is already in production and an unnamed source for the publication was able to experience previews for the upcoming Destiny game. The Kotaku source was able to experience "everything from game story, factions, art, engineering, tool chain, graphics, audio, player investment mechanisms, player progression, UI, and web and mobile apps."

The person even saw a live scene walkthrough in which atmospherics, trees and foliage, and particle effects were showcased. The source also commented on the lighting being "dynamic" with a sunset being portrayed.

The attendees were also given hands-on time with the title and commented on the fact that it felt very much like the Halo titles that Bungie produced prior to work on Destiny. They also mentioned that the color of the weapons can be changed and costume and identity are customizable in this title.

According to Kotaku the budget for this title cold number around $140 million including marketing.

Little is known about the title or the system it will be released for though it could presumably be an Xbox 720 launch title with a 2013 launch window.
