Good news for fighting game fans as Capcom has dropped some bombshells regarding the "Street Fighter V" beta and the characters and stages that would go along with it.
According to a report by Stephany Nunneley of VG 24/7, it can now be confirmed that the "Street Fighter V" beta test for the PS4 version of the game would be on July 23.
The report also notes that by July 25, Capcom would release two new characters for the beta and those two characters are Birdie and Cammy. Capcom stated that the reason for the delayed release of the characters were due to the fact that they would use the release as a test to see how their new content delivery system would fare under the stress of an open beta.
Capcom warns users that the "Street Fighter V" beta for the PS4 will not have an option to play local multiplayer andonly the online option would be available. Capcom notes that the purpose of the beta is to test the online multiplayer and the matchmaking function.
Meanwhile, Capcom gave a brief run down on the gameplay flow for the "Street Fighter V" beta on the official Capcom Unity website.
-When players boot the game up and go past the start screen, they'll be taken to the character select screen.
-Players should choose the character they would like to fight others with, as they will not be able to select a different character before heading into battle.
-After the match is complete, players will then be brought back to the Grid where they will go back into queue for the next match.
As confirmed by Capcom, the playable characters for the "Street Fighter V" open beta are Ryu, Chun-Li, M. Bison, Nash, Birdie and Cammy while the playable stages for the game are Bustling Side Street (China), Terminal Station (London) and the Forgotten Waterfall.
Capcom also notes that PS3 arcade stick functionality would not be included in the "Street Fighter V" beta.
It should be noted that Yoshinori Ono has teased that an announcement regarding "Street Fighter V" may happen at this year's San Diego Comic Con.
