What to expect from the upcoming Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) exhibit this year? The latest smartphone models, of course!

Many are expecting major smartphone makers to unveil their latest handsets in Berlin from September 4 to 9, with the exception of Apple, of course. The company Steve Jobs co-founded marches to the beat of its own drum and has its own launching events for its own products.

Sony is one of those anticipated to release its latest mobile products at the IFA 2015, with the Xperia Z5 being the most buzzed about. Rumors have it that the Xperia Z5 Ultra and Xperia Z5 Compact may be appearing at the exhibit.

Reports say the Xperia Z5 "will feature the same Omnibalance design language but come with an impressive specs sheet: Snapdragon 820, 4 GB of RAM, 21 MP camera, 4,500 mAh battery and Qualcomm's new Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint scanner," Android Pit noted.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 is also another hotly-anticipated product. Coincidentally, it has been positioned for a September release, which means it is highly likely to appear at this year's IFA. The fact that its previous iterations have been unveiled at past IFA events also appears to confirm that the upcoming phablet will indeed be shown in Berlin in September.

Recently, a schematic of the Galaxy Note 5 has reportedly been leaked online, showing a design similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge. "But instead of sloping the display, Samsung reversed the curve making the rounded edges against your hand," Gizmodo noted, adding that the schematic appear to match the designs shown in earlier leaked images.

LG may likely release a new handset to combat the latest offerings of mobile tech rivals, particularly Apple and Samsung. It's speculated that the South Korean tech firm may launch " a 'pro' version of its popular flagship" at the 2015 IFA, called the LG G3 Pro. Although some have been forecasting that LG may unveil LG G4 Pro, it appears that the G3 Pro story is the more feasible path. However, since LG hasn't really confirmed these things, anything is possible.

Regarding the rumored G4 Pro, it's been said that the phone will have a metal build and may be revealed in October - a month after IFA 2015.

"The LG G4 Pro will feature a 5.8-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution," Phone Arena said. "Driving the handset is the Snapdragon 820 SoC. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB/64GB of internal storage. A 27MP camera adorns the back of the phablet and an 8MP snapper can be found in front, ready to snap selfies."

Motorola is also expected to cash in on the opportunity and launch the third generation Moto G, also known as Moto G (2015), during the Berlin exhibit.

"Spec-wise, the Moto G will keep its mid-range status, being powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 610 chipset, with 2 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, expandable with up to 128 more. Just like the Moto X 2015, it should also run Android M," UnlockUnit noted.
