There are rumors that the LG G Pro 3 model will soon surface.

Mobipicker revealed that the insider talks about the LG G Pro 3 started in 2014 but people subsequently assumed that the company focused on its 2015 flagship model instead and already dropped the idea of having a G Pro series. A recent report, however, claimed that LG has actually resumed work on the LG G Pro series and will most likely unveil the LG G Pro 3 near the close of 2015.

Mobipicker wrote that the LG G Pro 3 will most likely feature a huge 6-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The smartphone will also include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The device is also said to run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and will feature a fingerprint scanner. There are also rumors going around that the G Pro 3's retail price will start at $790.

Aside from having a fingerprint scanner, Phone Arena reported that there are also rumors that the LG G Pro 3 may also include iris recognition technology, allowing users to access their phone with their eyes only. News about the iris scanning technology was leaked by a Chinese user @Leaksfly. Not much detail was revealed but it would definitely excite users to have an iris scanning phone in the near future. Phandroid added that one challenge involves boosting the popularity of the G Pro series in the western markets. The phablet might only become available in South Korea and other Asian markets.

Based on the same Phandroid report, the LG G Pro 2 is currently priced at over $500. GSM Arena stated that the device was released in September 2013. It featured a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The product also included a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and the Adrena 330 GPU. The G Pro 2 included 2GB of RAM and either a 16GB or a 32GB non-expandable internal memory. The LG G Pro 3’s predecessor also came with a 13-megapixel rear shooter and a 2.1-megapixel front camera. The device came in black, white, red and gold tones. It also had a 3,000mAh non-removable battery.

The LG G Pro 3 is certainly a huge upgrade compared to the G Pro 2, particularly in terms of the display and scanning technology. More news and details are expected in the following weeks before its official release.
