Tom Cruise will be returning in the fifth installment of the spy franchise “Mission Impossible.”

ScreenRant reported that “Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation” will be launching in theatres beginning July 31, 2015. Cruise will reprise his role as agent Ethan Hunt. The movie was written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie. Empire previously featured the new poster for the film. The film has the tagline: “Desperate Times. Desperate Measures.”

Many of Ethan Hunt’s team members from “Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol” will also be returning in the sequel. William Brandt will be played by Jeremy Renner, Benji Dunn will be played by Simon Pegg and Luther Stickell will be played by VingRhames. There will also be new actors coming namely Rebecca Ferguson, who will play Ilsa Faust, and Alec Baldwin, playing the villain.

Based on another ScreenRant report, “Rogue Nation” is testing higher compared to its predecessor. So far, the upcoming film is already garnering better responses compared to “Ghost Protocol”. There are also reports that the sixth installment of “Mission Impossible” is already in development.

Dana Goldberg, COO of Count Skydance Productions, shared her excitement about the upcoming movie.

“It is getting better and better with each episode. Credit to Chris McQuarrie and Tom Cruise and Don Granger who works with us, and it’s a phenomenal movie. It’s a phenomenal movie and I think I’m officially allowed to say that we tested even higher than Ghost Protocol. There’s not a lot of times in your life, you dream about them, but those moments you go to a preview screening and everybody’s there, your director, your star, the studio, you sit there and from the second the movie starts, you’re just like ‘oh, this feels really, really good’. It feels that way from top to bottom, and then they walk in and they tell you what the audience thought and it felt even better to the audience than it did to you, and that’s how we felt in Arizona a couple weeks ago,” Goldberg told Collider.

Goldberg also talked about how incredible Rebecca Ferguson will be in the new movie.

Empire reported that in “Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation”, Ethan Hunt and his team will be going up against “The Syndicate”, which is a rogue nation organization with a lot of resources and skilled people who wish to eliminate them for good.

Fans are already excited to find out whether the new movie will be better than “Ghost Protocol”.
