The controversy on Donald Trump’s derogatory comment against Mexicans, and Latinos, in general, is far from over. Artists are slowly responding to what they felt was another bullying remark for all Latinos.
To recall, here is what Trump said: “When do we beat Mexico at the border? They're laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me. ... When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They are bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

These are the words of Donald Trump when, unnoticed by many, Mexican Americans are again put into the humiliating spotlight with the harsh rhetoric.

Is this a bad way to start his presidential campaign? Here are some more celebrities who believe so and who can no longer stand by the Presidential candidate.

We have covered Devious Maids’ Roselyn Sanchez and Cristian de la Fuente who have both backed out as co-hosts for the Spanish-language simulcast of Miss USA.

Colombian star J Balvin also cancelled his performance for the Miss Universe pageant in protest of Trump’s remarks. Even though this would have been his first performance on national television, he is still doing this to show leadership through social responsibility.

Mexican beauty Lupita Jones, who was a big part of the Miss Universe squad as she was crowned Miss Universe herself twenty four years ago, felt disrespected as a citizen and as a woman. In an interview with Radio Channel KNBC-TV last Wednesday, Lupita Jones mentioned that they are considering the withdrawal of Mexico’s contestant in this year’s pageant as a protest against Trump.

“Oh, and you will never be our President”, tweeted Vivian Fabiola, bilingual TV Producer/Youtuber/Social Media Influencer. In a very moving statement with “Dear Mr. Trump” as an intro, she was able to vocalize her protest:

Former beauty queen Ashley Campuzano supported the statements of Lupita Jones, saying that had she been a contestant this year, she would have backed out also because of Trump’s offensive comments. Mexican TV host Chiquibaby also delivered a tweet in support of her co-artists against the statement of Donald Trump:

Fher Olvera of Mana had a successful performance in Los Angeles last week and managed to let the crowd boo over Donald Trump when he made a statement that Trump is an incompetent man and whose speeches remind him of Hitler. He also encouraged everyone to remember the hatred against Trump during election.

Puerto Rican star Ricky Martin also tweeted last week, with a direct mention to Donald Trump, saying the former has much "hatred and ignorance in his heart".

And finally, Mexican singer Noel Torres accused the business magnate to be envious of Mexican Carlos Slim, who happens to be the second richest guy in the world. He also questioned if a Mexican did something wrong to Trump to invoke such anger.

In a country of immigrants, with Mexicans and Latinos being a vast majority, Torres drove a very good point that this is not the best time to go against them.
