Will the movie adaptation of "Fifty Shades Darker" be fifty shades more different than the book version?

According to Movie Pilot, judging by the sequel trailer's direction, it would seem that the second iteration of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" franchise will deviate from the book.

"While the first book concerns itself much with Anastasia's attempts to adjust to a BDSM relationship, the second book is an inverse of that, with the prime conflict being Christian Grey's attempt to adjust to a vanilla one," the site said.

However, with the teaser showing Christian putting on a mask, it looks like he's still staying on his BDSM path, "what with that mask and the promise of things getting 'darker'."

However, if we recall the alternate ending of the first film, it looks like there's a light at the end of the tunnel for the lovers.

"As Jessie Ware's 'Say You Love Me' plays in the background, the former lovebirds go about their day to day lives with various degrees of functionality - Christian struggles to pay attention during what seems to be an important business meeting, and Ana cries in fetal position before getting her butt out the door," MTV described the scene.

Ana can later be seen sending the billionaire a toy glider plane that they flew together previously with a note that told him the toy reminded her of "a happy time."

Does this mean that Christian will indeed try out the vanilla option?

If you can't wait until 2017 to know the answer, perhaps it's best to ask author E.L. James, as it's been confirmed that she'll be writing the sequel from the troubled businessman's perspective, Hollywood Life said.

James' decision to do a Christian Grey POV for the second novel in the trilogy of books that made her skyrocket to fame and fortune likely stemmed from the fact that the author realized that it "wasn't that hard to write from Christian's perspective once I got started" when she worked on her recently released book "Grey."

It isn't clear, though, whether she'll release another edition for the third book using Christian's POV.

The sequel was announced pretty much immediately after the cinematic release of "Fifty Shades of Grey," with a 30-second trailer accompanying the revelation. The clip showed Christian wearing a mask, in reference to "a scene from EL James's original novel in which Grey's paramour Anastasia Steele attends a masquerade at the home of her beau's adoptive parents, Dr Grace Trevelyan-Grey and Carrick Grey," The Guardian noted.
