On May 2, 2015, Sunny Kim, a 26 year-old, beautiful, young lady was ruthlessly murdered by her lover, "Mr. Lee", right after a break up, reportedly. Under South Korean law he can only be referred as "Mr. Lee" according to BuzzfeedNews.

Kim had lots of dreams for herself, her career, and her family.

Her family and friends described her as someone independent, thoughtful, caring, and family-oriented. Her last message to her family received was:

"I got a job, let's get together soon."

Unfortunately, she was murdered that same day.

After graduating in the U.S. Kim returned to South Korea to teach

Kim arrived to the U.S. at age 14. She studied Economics and East Asian Studies at the State University of New York in Albany (SUNY) in year 2011. She went back to South Korea to work as a professor in Busan, where she also first met the suspect, Lee, her 'killer' ex-lover. Lee and Kim started their love story in Busan.

Lee and Kim were lovers and on May 2nd, Kim finally decided to end the relationship. Reportedly, Mr. Lee followed her to her apartment on that night.

Kim was just like every mother's daughter.

Kim was a 'Hello Kitty' fan, loved pink and girly stuff so much, addicted to nail arts and some interesting arts and crafts.

Kim's passion over snapping foods and sharing it

She loved food photography and used to indulge in various cuisines. She enjoyed cooking and reinventing different delectable gourmets.

But she was abused and ultimately murdered.

Prior to the death, Sunny had shared of Lee's abusive behavior. She sufferred trauma, had multiple bruises, black eyes and broken fingers, and experienced exteme pain.

After the murder, she was burried and cemented...

No fairy tale

Lee brutally killed Kim by strangling her in her sleep - reportedly. He put her in a luggage, buried under cement near her home, and tried to hide the incident. However, his conscience was only able to handle this for two weeks.

Reports said that when Lee appeared to Busan police and was brought to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Gwanak Station, he asserted that he attempted to commit suicide at a certain hotel nearby, entering the police station with his cut and bleeding wrist.

Lee, even exclaimed, "I killed my girlfriend and buried the body. I also tried to kill myself."

Families and friends of Kim, of course, didn't buy his alibis and drama as they knew that he was just trying to lighten his punishment.

According to the police reports, it was later found out that Lee even pretended to be Kim for more than two weeks and was sending messages to his late girlfriend's family and friends using her own phone, making it appear like nothing happened. He did this unbelivable 'roleplaying' to mislead the crime and keep "Kim's sudden loss" discreet from her families and friends.

Everyone's in pain, grieving for her untimely and tragic death.

It was really painful for her family especially to her mom, her friends, her sorority sisters, and loved ones to know that she died at the time when she was about to live her dreams and most of all, her life was just taken away by someone just like that - brutal and traumatic killing.

Friends paid tribute to Sunny Kim and reminisce their good memories with her.

She is loved and will truly be missed.

Her thoughtfulness, sweetness, and kindness are some of the things that her family and friends will surely miss.
