Rap mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs was arrested yesterday after getting into an altercation with the strength and conditioning coach of the UCLA football program.

TMZ.com reports that the rapper was arrested by campus police after allegedly attacking UCLA coach Sal Alosi with a kettlebell weight. Alosi has also been in the media recently for being the New York Jets coach who purposely tripped a Miami Dolphins player when he was covering a punt in 2010.

Combs was on campus to watch his son Justin play for the UCLA football team. Allegedly, the altercation started when Combs called out Alosi for being too harsh on his son, even telling him not to return to the team's practices until the end of the summer; while supposedly, Alosi called Combs a "helicopter dad" who hovers around his kid.

However, two different sides of the story seem to be unfolding currently. Sources close to the UCLA coach are saying that after a heated confrontation on the practice field, Combs confronted Alosi near his office inside the UCLA facility.

Alosi was reportedly on his mobile phone when the musician first confronted him and did not take too kindly to be made to wait. After telling Combs to "hang on," Alosi was then apparently assaulted by Combs with a kettlebell weight that barely missed the coach.

On the other hand, the side of P. Diddy tells a slightly different story. According to the camp of the rap superstar, Combs went to Alosi's office after the practice to talk to the coach but was told that he was not allowed in and asked to leave.

However, Combs still proceeded into the office where Alosi began to yell and threatened to call security if he did not leave. After which, Combs then allegedly threatened to call the police himself. Upon hearing this, Alosi snapped and went after the entertainer with his hands. It was at this point that Combs took a kettlebell weight and put it in a defensive posture, never intending to hurt the coach.

When asked about the incident, UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora told the press, "This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course."

As of press time, P. Diddy is in police custody and has been formally charged with a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon.
