With Abismo de Pasion ending its run on Univision, Amore Verdaderos is slated to take its place.

The Mexican telenovela was produced for Televisa by Nicandro Diaz Gonzalez and is based on a previous telenovela called Amor en Custodia. The novela stars a solid cast that includes the likes of Erika Buenfil, Eduardo Yanez, Sebastian Rulli, and up and coming star Elza Gonzalez.

The melodrama tells the story of Victoria Balvanera de Brizz (Buenfil) who is the Creative Manager for the Meta International Company, the largest publicity agency in the country. Her success has made her a celebrity of sorts. Jose Angel Arriaga (Yanez) comes to ask her for a job and becomes her bodyguard. The two become emotionally attached.

Meanwhile, Victoria's husband Nelson has an affair with model Kendra Ferreti.
Victoria's daughter Nikki is young and fickle and suffers a lot due to bulimia. Like her mother, she also falls for her bodyguard Francisco (Rulli). Liliana, the daughter of Jose Angel Arriaga, comes to seek a job at Balvanera house also and falls in love with Francisco as well. The drama of the novela centers on these love triangles playing out.

Spanish-Language publication Radioformula recently stated that the production encountered problems between actress Gonzalez and director Salvador Garcini who got angry with the young starlett for talking on the phone during a recording session. Producer Diaz stated that those issues are behind them and that the show's success should be qualified by its ratings, which have been between 25 and 30 since the novela's premiere. 45 episodes have already premiered in Mexico, all in 42 to 48 minute installments.
