Singer and today's wild child Miley Cyrus had recently publicly acknowledged that she is bisexual and that she had, in fact, told her own mom just that when she was still 14 years old, which is nearly 9 years ago. Which means she knew she was bi even before ex-boyfriends Liam Hemsworth and Patrick Schwarzenegger romanced her.
Did they know she's bisexual back then?
According to a source, the answer is yes.
"They both knew [about Miley's bisexuality], but it was Patrick that was really more accepting and really brought it out of her. He thought it was really hot!" an insider told Hollywood Life. "For Patrick, he thought this was extremely cool and was all about it. He loved it!"
The source also added that Miley thought her attraction for the same sex helped her love life, making her relationship with Patrick reportedly "easier."
"She believes it improved her relationship with Patrick because she could be the person she wanted to be. He really gave her the freedom she was looking for," the insider explained.
But did the bisexuality ruin Miley's engagement to the "Hunger Games" star? It can be recalled that Liam and the "Bangerz" artist had called off their engagement and relationship in 2013.
"It didn't contribute to the breakup," the mole clarified. "Immaturity, family planning and career goals were the main factors."
Well, they are still young, after all.
Miley's sexuality had been questioned for quite a while now. Back in December 2013, Life&Style alleged that an insider told the publication that the singer has "been experimenting with women and even brags that she's had threesomes."
Another source told the entertainment news source that she "is definitely bisexual. She has women over to her house all the time and hooks up with them. Lately she is more interested in women than men. She was completely brokenhearted after Liam and is kind of over men for the time being. I wouldn't be surprised if a woman came out and said she has hooked up with her soon."
Sounds like Liam could have been that anchor to Miley's bobbing ship. But, as one of her songs go, she just "can't stop."
In the months leading to Miley's confirmation of her bisexuality, she had been leaving hints behind for the public to piece together, which probably lessened the shock factor of her revelation. But then again, she already somehow did that at that infamous performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs.
