There are rumors that the Surface Pro 4 will be a worthwhile upgrade when it becomes available later in 2015.

Inquisitr stated that the Microsoft Surface Pro might launch in October 2015 and will feature the new Windows 10. Paul Mueller, an industry analyst in Los Angeles, reportedly believes that the Surface Pro 3 is performing well enough to allow Microsoft enough time to develop another machine. The Surface Pro 4 is expected to release in October, although many had thought that the laptop would be available in June or July. Mueller added that Microsoft can capitalize on both the new device and Windows 10 while the Surface Pro 3 is still selling well. Tech Radar indicated that the Surface Pro 4 may also launch together with the rumored Microsoft Surface Mini.

Venture Capital Post reported that the Surface Pro 4 will most likely be the first device to feature the new Windows 10. The two-in-one product is rumored to have a 4K screen with a pixel resolution of 2160 x 1440. The Surface Pro 4 is also said to include an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor. It will also include a stylus pen, similar to its predecessor. There are talks that the upcoming device will have the Skylake chip, which is set to release in August 2015. There may be two models offered, a 12-inch and a 14-inch type, with 16GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage space. The Surface Pro 4 will also have a matching keyboard, LTE support and Xbox game streaming.

The laptop/tablet will reportedly also feature an 8-megapixel primary rear camera and a 3.5-megapixel secondary front camera, Christian Today wrote. Tech Radar also noted that the Surface Pro 4 might feature the Core M Broadwell chip. Using the Intel Broadwell-Y CPU on the Surface Pro 4 can make it thinner than the Surface Pro 3. The device may also be fanless while maintaining compatibility with all accessories. It is also possible that the accessories that were used on the Surface Pro 3 will still be compatible on the next generation, such as the Surface Pro Docking Station, Surface Pro Type Covers and other infrastructure accessories like the Ethernet adapter and power adapter.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is expected to retail anywhere between $1,200 and $2,000, based on the same Venture Capital Post report. When it comes out, the device is expected to compete with Apple's iPad Air. More news are expected about the upcoming product in the coming weeks.
