As is the nature of season enders, Season 4 of "Scandal" ended with a cliffhanger of a scene showing Quinn pointing a weapon in Huck's direction. Will the show lose a cast member in the upcoming season? Will we see Huck live for another season or two?

"If Huck lives, there's no guarantee that he will remain a Gladiator. Since he did Rowan's bidding by killing the grand jurors and because Rowan (Joe Morton) will probably find a way to fly the coop soon, could the two officially join forces?" TV Guide speculated.

When this was relayed to Guillermo Diaz, the actor who plays Huck, he appears to agree.

"That is definitely an interesting possibility. If [Olivia] finds out and he feels like there's nothing left for him there, I can see him turning to Rowan and embracing that dark side to him," he mused.

Rowan Pope, as fans of the series know, is lead character Olivia Pope's father and is "Command" of B613, an elite black ops program.

Considering that the show's creator Shonda Rhimes can choose to kill off any of the character, Huck's fate remain a big question until the show opens next season. Diaz had also revealed that Rhimes had made changes to the script of the cliffhanger episode, with the original supposedly having Quinn "walking away from Huck and obviously doesn't shoot him," as told to TV Guide.

"Who knows what's gonna happen, but that's what makes 'Scandal' so exciting. Shonda is not afraid to get rid of characters that are popular on the show or regulars like myself. Now we have to wait and see. I have no idea if I'm dead or alive!" Diaz said.

The actor also noted that if Huck were to be eliminated, it would have happened already.

"Shonda has a bigger picture in her head. She's got it all worked out in that brilliant brain of hers. That will all be revealed in the episodes to come," he added.

Further, it's been reported that Liv will be hiring a new Gladiator in the upcoming season. And that the new recruit is actually a "familiar face" - "i.e. it's a character Liv has previously crossed paths with (a guest star not a series regular)," TV Line said.

Who is your best guess? Portia de Rossi is an unlikely possibility as she has been revealed to become President Fitzgerald Grant's (Tony Goldwyn) White House chief of staff and will also be a series regular.
