We compiled the latest reports and speculations about the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and compared it against the already released Samsung Galaxy S6.

Vine Report claimed that the Galaxy Note 5 is currently being tested using both Quad HD and Ultra HD. According to the news outlet, the Qualcomm Snapdragon present in the Galaxy Note 4 will be replaced in the Galaxy Note 5 by the Exynos all-in-one CPU, which combines all elements such as modem, storage, RAM, and GPU in a single chip.

Digital Trends claimed that the upcoming device will have a stronger battery power. Venture Capital Post noted that the phablet will be equipped with a 4,100 mAh battery, and could possibly come bearing a 7.9 mm body.

Know Your Mobile reported that the Galaxy Note 5 will have a Super AMOLED 4K display. According to Softpedia, the tech giant is expected to come up with a software update which will provide advanced camera features, with its front snapper said to come in at 8 MP.

"Word on the street has it that afterwards, the flagship will be able to shoot in RAW and will even be granted an iPhone-esque exposure control," Softpedia wrote.

Other rumored features include advanced S pen functionality, improved fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, and with 64 GB and 128 GB memory storage variants, the news outlet listed.International Business Times claimed that the phablet will have two versions: the Galaxy Note 5 bearing a flat display and an Edge version with dual-edge curved screen.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, in comparison, come in at 5.1-inch display with Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, GSM Arena wrote. Both handsets run using the Android Lollipop 5.0.2 operating system, and are powered by the Exynos 7420 and Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57.

For its cameras, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge both have 16 MP primary shooters and a 5 MP secondary, GSM Arena noted. It has 3 GB RAM and 32, 64, and 128 GB internal memory storage variants.

Price

Venture Capital Post speculated that the Galaxy Note 5 will be priced at $900. The Galaxy S6, in comparison, costs $649 for the 32 GB version, $749 for the 64 GB, and $849 for its 128 GB variant, GalaxyS6Samsung.com listed.

Release Date

The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come out in September sans Google's Android M. According to Vine Report, the operating system from Google will not make it in time for Galaxy Note 5's release.

Samsung President Jong-Kyun Shin also previously said that the device is more likely to be launched in September in Berlin, contrary to previous reports claiming about a July unveiling. The news outlet added that the Galaxy Note 5 could be equipped with Google's new mobile OS expected to be released this month. This means that the device will be shipped with an older OS but with an instant software update.
