Game publisher Activision is reportedly working on a new version of the "Skylanders" franchise for 2015, which will be named "Superchargers."

Polygon reported that the toys-to-life game's upcoming release was leaked by Travis Pastrana, a pro motocross rider.

Pastrana posted on the website, Twiends, "Was filming some cool stuff for a new Activision game called Skylanders Superchargers this weekend."

The post has already been removed, although the caption is still visible on the site.

Videogamer.com cited that the fact that Pastrana is involved in the development can mean that vehicles will be part of the gameplay. Elsewhere Unseen64 writer Tamaki also claimed that "Skylanders Superchargers" will present vehicles, which is in line with Pastrana's presence.

Tamaki tweeted, "The new Skylanders will definitely still have vehicles though. I know that much."

Activision has released four entries of "Skylander", one in each year beginning in 2011. These are namely "Skylanders: Sypro's Adventure", "Skylanders Giants", "Skylanders Swap Force", and "Skylanders Trap Team". Activision reported that "Skylanders Trap Team" was one of the five bestselling games of 2014, based on the same Polygon report.

The setting of the franchise is in "Skylands", a place consisting of floating islands and magical features. Skylander characters have to use various items to protect their world from threats. They also have to work with Portal Masters to maintain peace and order. The ultimate goal involves going through the levels to prevent Kaos. The games in the series are played by putting character figures on the "Portal of Power". Players also deal with elemental categories and other elements to attain different objectives.

When "Skylander Superchargers" releases, it is expected to compete with titles like "Disney Infinity 3.0" and "Lego Dimensions". Arcade Sushi stated that both games will also be featuring vehicles and accessories in its new game. In the fourth installment "Skylanders Trap Team", which became available in October 2014, the game showcased a variety of trap devices, some of which can be scanned via the portal device. As a result, the enemy characters in the game can be controlled in favor of the user.

More details about the fifth installment are expected in the upcoming E3 in the end of May 2015. The upcoming game will most likely be playable on several platforms such as the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Android and iOS. There is no confirmation whether it will be available for Wii U, Wii and Nintendo 3DS.
