Real Madrid starts their campaign to retain the Copa Del Rey Championship for the first time since 2011 as they take on third division team Alcoyana in the first leg of the round of 32.

Coach Jose Mourinho has stated that he will rest major members of the first team such as Xabi Alonso, Crisitiano Ronaldo, Mesut Ozil, Sergio Ramos, or Pepe in the match.

"I will not play Pepe, neither Ramos or Ozil, Ronaldo or Xabi Alonso. I will use other first team players in accordance with the rules which state we must use at least seven first team members," Jose Mourinho said.

Mourinho is expected to give young talents such as 20-year-old Alex and the 17-year-old Jose Rodriguez an opportunity to start the game.

With those major players out, it is likely that Mourinho gives Kaka another go in the starting lineup. He has had a resurgence of sorts this season with major matches against Ajax Amsterdam in the UCL and strong play for the Brazilian national squad.

Los Merenegues have won the tournament 18 times in their history with their last one coming in 2011 with a 1-0 win over rival FC Barcelona. More importantly, Real Madrid has only been in the final twice in the last 8 years; they lost in 2004 against Zaragoza.

Prediction: Even without major players, this Real Madrid side is too talented for a third division team. Should be an easy 4-0 win for Los Merengues.
