The official U.S. release dates of "Dragon Ball Z: Resurretion F" has been finally announced!

FUNimation Entertainment has revealed that the much-anticipated animated film will be shown in theaters across the U.S. and Canada from August 4-12 this year, ComingSoon.net said.

"We are thrilled to bring fans - both new and old - this latest film from series creator Akira Toriyama," declared Gen Fukunaga, FUNimation's CEO and founder. "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' is a visually stunning movie and offers even more action and comedy than 'Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.'"

Further, the company's COO and EVP chimed in, saying that fans "are in for another amazing ride with 'Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'.'"

"We will be raising the bar for the anime theater-going experience," he added.

Considering that the movie, which will be dubbed in English for the North American release, premiered in Los Angeles on April 11, fans may feel the August release is a tad too long. But then again, the fact alone that the film will indeed be shown in North American theaters, albeit months later after its debut in Japan, is already something that Dragon Ball Z fans should be thankful for.

With the confirmation of the release dates, it's expected that fans will be engaged in a mad scramble for the tickets once they're available. iDigitalTimes recommends registering at www.dragonballz.com to get alerts about ticket updates.

"The new movie showcases the return of Frieza - one of the greatest villains in all of anime," ComingSoon.net said. "Now resurrected from death, Frieza embarks on plans to take his revenge on the Z Fighters of Earth. Goku and Vegeta once again face their nemesis together, but this time it is a fight for Earth's very survival."

"The film is set to feature the return of cast members Seán Schemmel as Goku, Christopher R. Sabat as Vegeta/Piccolo, Chris Ayres as Frieza, John Burgmeier as Tien, Kyle Hebert as Gohan, Mike McFarland as Master Roshi, Monica Rial as Bulma, Sonny Strait as Krillin, Ian Sinclair as Whis, Todd Haberkorn as Jaco, and Jason Douglas as the villain from last year's 'Battle of Gods,' Beerus," the site added.

This year's release has beaten "Furious 7" at the box office in Japan last month. As such, the country has since been known as the place where Vin Diesel's movie isn't number one at the theater tills.

Will "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" beat box office takings of American films showing in the same week as the animated flick? We'll have to wait till August to find out!
