Will the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 be powerful than its predecessor?

This question came in following reports of a rumored Samsung tablet with codename "CHOPIN-LTE" spotted at Geekbench.

According to the listing, the new tablet was added on May 7. It runs Android L Lollipop 5.1 version, has a memory of 3869 MB, and is powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 at 2.24 GHz (1 processor, 4 cores).

It had scored 1005 points in the single-core test and 3425 points in the multi-core test. Phone Arena explained that this means that it has the same performance as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It added that it might even suggest that the unidentified device might even be powerful than the Note 4. The news outlet even aired the possibility of the new device being the next Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

Should this be true, The Motley Fool says then the new device with the Atom x5-Z8500 (rumored to be the Galaxy Tab S2) would be more powerful than the Galaxy Tab S.

"The Atom x5-Z8500, then, seems like it should deliver significantly more performance than the chip inside of the prior generation Galaxy Tab S. This helps lend credibility to the idea that the tablet in question is the Galaxy Tab S2," Motley Fool's Ashraf Eassa revealed.

So is the upcoming Galaxy Tab S2 powered by Intel? Here's what Eassa thinks: "I don't think investors should assume, based on these Geekbench database entries, that Intel has "won" the Galaxy Tab S2. However, based on the analysis above, it's definitely plausible that Intel was able to win this spot with the Atom x5/x7, as these chips are competent tablet-oriented processors."

Sam Mobile earlier revealed that the new high-end tablet would come out in four variants - Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Wi-Fi + LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab S2 and Wi-Fi + LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0.

On Leaks said the 9.7 inches version of the tablet would have dimensions of 237.17 mm x 169.58 mm x 5.5 mm. Note that its predecessor, the 10.5 inch Tab S, has the following dimensions: 247.3 mm x 177.3 mm x 6.6 mm.

According to reports, the new tablet would have an AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 and aspect ratio of 4:3. The tablet is expected to get an 8 megapixel main camera and a 2.1 megapixel selfie shooter.

Sam Mobile has earlier reported that the arrival of the new device has already been confirmed, following a changelog of the Hancom Office Hshow 2014 app.

Samsung has not yet confirmed these rumors.
