The Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight launched in the UK today, landing on store shelves in Barnes & Noble, Dixon's, Blackwell's, Argos, ASDA, Foyles, and Waitrose.

The device features a 6-inch touchscreen with an 800 x 600 resolution, built-in WiFi, has a battery life of over 2 months with wireless off on a half hour of daily reading, and can hold up to 1,000 books with its 2GB of internal memory. The Glowlight illuminates the e-reader's screen evenly without lighting up the entire room. With the Glowlight option activated, the device lasts for over 1 month on a single charge. The Simple Touch retails for £109.

The basic version of the Simple Touch foregoes the Glowlight's perks, but retails at a cheaper price of £79. Specs for the bare Simple Touch are the same as the Simple Touch with Glowlight.

The Nook HD and HD+ will release in the UK in November.

Both the Nook HD and Nook HD+ carry a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and microSD slots. The Nook HD sports a 1440 x900-resolution screen, 8GB of storage, weighs 315 grams, and is half an inch narrower than the Kindle Fire. The Nook HD+ shows off a 9-inch, 1920 x1080 resolution screen and weights 515 grams, while carrying 16GB of storage at its base model. Neither version of the Nook HD features a camera. Both versions of the device run off of a modified version of Android.
