As the film "Star Wars Episode 7: Force Awakens" draws closer to its launch date, related collectibles and toys are also set to release soon.

StarWars.com announced that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" products will be available beginning September 4, 2015, at 12:01 a.m. The launch date is dubbed "Force Friday" which will feature several stores worldwide showcasing the new toys and collectibles. There will also be books, comics, apps, lifestyle accessories, apparel and apps related to the famous intergalactic film franchise. A red and black box was also presented on the website, without revealing the item contained within.

The announcement read, "StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that Star Wars: The Force Awakens products will land in our galaxy on September 4, 2015, at 12:01 a.m. - "Force Friday" - with stores around the world opening their doors at midnight for a special celebration of all things Star Wars. It will be a day long remembered."

Particularly, Kylo Ren, the new mystery villain, will be included in the products to be made available on "Force Friday". Kylo Ren is the shadowy figure seen in the initial film trailer, walking through the woods and wielding a red lightsaber with a crossguard.

Josh Silverman, executive vice president, global licensing, Disney Consumer Products, said in the same StarWars.com report, "Every lightsaber, every action figure, every LEGO set tells a story for generations of Star Wars fans, and this global event is a celebration of those stories. We're excited to be part of the countdown to this enormous movie moment."

Furthermore, shoppers and Star Wars fans are encouraged to share their experience on September 4 through the hashtags #MidnightMadness and #ForceFriday.

In February, the International Business Times reported that the "Star Wars 7" toys were kept secret earlier in the year to prevent plot spoilers. The new products were not featured at the annual Toy Fair in New York, although Lego hinted that they will feature iconic scenes from "The Force Awakens". Since that time, no new photos or clues about upcoming toys and film-related items were shown.

Star Wars fans will have a whole new barrage of collectibles to add to their arsenal, possibly including their favorite characters in new costumes, new robots, enemy action figures and space vehicles that were presented in the movie trailers. Collectors have a few months more to save up before the big launch date on September 4. The company is expected to release more details about the event in the coming weeks.
