A recent report from Master Herald claims that the upcoming "Persona 5" would be more difficult and more complicated than previous game installments. The news outlet speculated that this is quite new especially that some gaming companies have recently been trying to make their games "easier" and "more accessible."

This new level of difficulty employed in the game might definitely challenge players, pushing them to do and pursue it even more. The news site cited the case of "Dark Souls" which despite its difficulty became successful.

"One of the changes that will be introduced in the new installment is to increase the difficulty. The previous 'Persona' games were quite well-known for their challenging gameplay already, but it seems like the developers plan on making things even more complicated for the next version. What's more, the game is apparently going to be made particularly more difficult for newcomers, and might actually force some players to go back and revisit older titles if they want to feel on an appropriate level...There is some speculation that the difficulty is actually going to come through side channels, such as a difficult to grasp plot, but in any case, the game will be a more challenging experience for newcomers," Master Herald said in its report.

As regards gameplay, it is expected that the new "Persona 5" game would get a stealth mode, platforming elements and real-time puzzles. The players will be able to use both melee and ranged weapons, as suggested in the game's trailer. There will likely changes in combat.

"'Persona' games have traditionally been full of interesting content for players to explore, but this one might push that trend even further. Something which no players will probably complain about, after all - we just hope that the new content is added for its quality and not quantity," Master Herald added.

Gematsu earlier reported that the title centers on the protagonist who gained his Persona "after a certain incident unfolded." It also said that the a "great darkness" is now "enveloping" the city. The protagonist, together with his friends, attends a private high school called Shujin Academy. The game is mostly set in Shibuya, Japan. It is rumored that the protagonist acts as student during the day and transforms into a thief at night.

The game's credits include Katsura Hashino as game director, Shigenori Soejima as character designer, and Shoji Meguro as game music composer.
