The new Android 5.0 Lollipop continues to roll out in a variety of devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge.

Christian Today reported that US Cellular has rolled out Android's newest OS, allowing phablet users to enjoy the various features that come with the Lollipop.

The Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge were flagship phablets that entered the market in September 2014. The Note Edge made headlines with its unique curved screen technology.

Meanwhile, Tech Times said that based on new reports, the Samsung S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be getting the Android 5.1 Lollipop update soon. It indicated that Samsung is working on the update at present, but the official date of release has not yet been confirmed. Out of the box, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will feature the Android Lollipop 5.0.2.

As Tech Times noted, the recent launch of Samsung's new flagship smartphones has been well-received by users, with improved sales compared to the Galaxy S5. The S6 particularly featured the dual-sided curved screen display, updated Material Design UI and improved battery life.

Samsung is also developing and offering the Android 5.0 Lollipop for many of its current devices. The Samsung Galaxy S5 received the update on all major carriers in the United States. The update was also made available for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5 Active, Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy S5 Sport, Tech Times added.

There are several features to expect from the Android 5.1 Lollipop, according to Tech Times. There is a protection feature which will prevent phone use without signing in with the registered Google account. The device protection will remain even if the device undergoes a full factory reset. When talking to another user who also has Lollipop 5.1, improved HD calling will be enabled. The quick settings screen has been enhanced to allow users quick and easy access to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop update has progressed to the "T-Mobile Testing" phase from the "Manufacturer Development phase", Gottabemobile noted. The current phase subjects the software to internal testing and after that, it will be made available to the public by the carrier.

Aside from U.S. Cellular, Sprint has also rolled out Android Lollipop to Galaxy Note Edge users. AT&T has also made an announcement but the roll out has not yet begun while Verizon users who have Samsung Galaxy Note Edge would have to wait for the company's official announcement regarding the update, Gottabemobile added.

To check if your device can already download the update OTA, go to settings > about phone > software update.
