Johnny Football has the potential to be great if he improves his work ethics and develops leadership skills in time.

Football legend Roger Staubach said about quarterback Johnny Manziel in a report by USA Today, "If he really truly gets his life back on track, his talent is Russell Wilson-type. So size isn't the overwhelming issue for him when you have Russell and Drew Brees winning Super Bowls at the same size."

Staubach added, "Johnny has got the arm strength. I don't know why talent wise, he still can't be a really good football player. But you have to be more than just a talent as a quarterback. You have to be mentally tough and you have got to be a leader. And you have to transfer that to your teammates."

He continued, "You have to be mentally tough and you have got to be a leader. And you have to transfer that to your teammatesAnd I think Johnny lost the confidence of his teammates because of his personal issues. He has to get that back.''

Based on a report by NBC Sports, Staubach, also a former Heisman Trophy winner in 1963, said that the Browns should not be too quick to give up on the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner. According to Staubach, the Browns should allow more time for their first round draft pick to develop.

Sporting News reported that Manziel is expected to train with the Cleveland Browns on April 20. He will be competing for the starting quarterback position with Josh McCown and Thaddeus Lewis.

During his dismal rookie season in 2014, Manziel only threw for 175 yards. He had two interceptions and zero touchdowns. Manziel also garnered a lot of attention for his partying and off-court antics.

Manziel does have the same size as Wilson plus the athleticism to extend plays and the arm to make necessary throws. However, at 22 years old, Manziel needs to mature and prove that he is worthy of starting for the Browns. The 2015 NFL season will show whether rehabilitation has changed the young quarterback for the better. Otherwise, he will be only known as a major bust, based on a report by Fansided.

Before checking into rehab, Manziel admitted that he needed to resolve his personal issues. Now that he is out, his next goal is to fix his reputation with Browns teammates when they start their offseason workouts, based on the same report by USA Today.
