As NFL draft day draws closer, potential top pick Jameis Winston is making huge waves among teams, with some reportedly going as far as tracking him secretly.

Yahoo! Sports reported that NFL teams are already spying on Winston. George Whitfield, Jr, Winston's mentor, said that teams have been watching the quarterback especially when he is not aware.

Whitfield said, "They've staged people. Yeah, there are teams that have staged people on different flights he had, just to kind of be in the midst - a fly on the wall. No [Jameis wasn't aware of it], but I had a team official tell me that. They were aware of another team that said they wanted to do that."

Whitfield explained how teams even managed to acquire Winston's flight schedule, "When you go to the [NFL scouting] combine, the league has a flight deal, a flight manifest."

He continued, "[Teams] have had all last year, all this year. [They've used] private eyes. I know people have interviewed his elementary school teachers, bus drivers, team bus drivers, people that gave him rides at the Heisman ceremony. Pilots. ... Local restaurants. The lady at the Florida State cafeteria. All that stuff. And hey, if that's what they feel they need to do to ensure themselves so come draft day they can get up on the table for him, then that's what you've got to do."

David Cornwell, Winston's lawyer, also warned the young quarterback that a lot of people will be keeping their eyes on him, especially in the weeks leading to the 2015 NFL Draft.

In the meantime, Winston is hoping that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would see his potential and use their No. 1 overall pick on him.

Winston said in a report by ESPN as to why the Bucks should acquire him, "Because I'm the best player in the draft."

His statement came after his pro day workout, which was not extraordinary. Winston threw 102 passes, completing 92. He was the only quarterback in the workout, so the extra throws were actually intended to observe wide receivers. Winston believed that he made a good impression, although Deadspin reported that there were speculations that he gained weight. He actually weighed 231 pounds, which was the same as his weight at the scouting combine.

Sports Illustrated reported that Tampa Bay has yet to confirm whether they will use their first pick on Winston. If the Bucks pass on him, Winston will most likely go to the Tennessee Titans.
