Microsoft continues to woo audiences with its recent releases, the latest being Windows 10 - said to be their vehicle for making up with Windows users who had to deal with the Windows 8 disaster. And, as you may already know, this upcoming OS version will be available for free, regardless whether your device has been installed with a pirated or authentic Windows version.

As if that's not enough, Microsoft recently cut down $100 from the 128GB Surface Pro 3 (now $899) and $150 from the 256GB (now $1,149) or 512GB (now $1,799) tablet models.

On top of that, the recent price cuts are not the first made for the Surface Pro 3.

"At the beginning of February, Microsoft started offering $100 off most versions of the Surface Pro 3 tablet -- for a very limited time," ZDNet said. "That time grew, however, and later in the month, the company also started discounting the base configuration as well as instituting a trade-in program for older models."

As with previous deals, there are no discounts offered for the base model, which is still sold at $799.

"All other versions, however, receive a price break, including a bigger one on the higher-capacity configurations," the site went on to say.

Plus, you'll get a free sleeve with the purchase of any of the models, including the base one. This free sleeve offer runs only until April 5, though.

The continual price slash appeared to herald the arrival of the Surface Pro 4, as price cuts usually happen when a new model is about to be released. Rumor has it that the next iteration of Microsoft's tablet may arrive in July this year, according to International Business Times. However, no official announcement has been made about the release date yet.

Perhaps the discounts are Microsoft's way of boosting Surface Pro 3 sales? After all, Windows 10 is coming out and can help make the tablet-using experience a better one. Forbes' Tony Bradley had recommended last year that the company cut the price of its tablet to make it "more appealing" than similar devices of its competitors.

"I don't think Microsoft necessarily has to undercut the cost of the MacBook Air, but the Type keyboard cover should be included by default and bundled in at the base price," Bradley opined, after comparing the Surface Pro 3 to the 11-inch MacBook Air. "It is an optional accessory, but it is a necessary component for the Surface Pro 3 to be transformed into a laptop and live up to its tagline. Charging $130 extra for it is a nickel-and-diming approach that turns potential customers off."
