The first teaser trailer for "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" must be just around the corner as we're seeing more official photos of the characters that will be in the upcoming movie.

The latest one to come out is that of Superman's most well-known nemesis - Lex Luthor.

"Details on Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (due March 25, 2016) have been scarcer than kryptonite," Entertainment Weekly said in preamble. "We know that a cameo by Aquaman sets up 2017's 'Justice League' and that Wonder Woman has a sizable role."

"And now we have our first glimpse of Jesse Eisenberg as one of comics' greatest bad guys: Lex Luthor," added the publication, who was first to break the black-and-white photo of Jesse Eisenberg as the billionnaire villain.

"He's not any of the Lexes that you've seen, that's for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course," said Snyder.

"Our Lex is disarming and he's not fake. He says what he believes and he says what's on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it's all there," the director went on to reveal.

The photo, taken by the movie's set photographer Clay Enos, show the actor in all his bald glory, staring into the camera with a certain intensity. What is he trying to say? What is he thinking?

Talk has it that "The Social Network" star is "so good in the role he is already expected to reprise it in another movie," MailOnline said.

This certainly run counter to the opinion of some who doubted that the actor could carry such a role. However, an analysis by ScreenRant's Andrew Dyce a year ago supported Jesse's casting because "comic book movie storytelling has come a long way" since those caricaturish portrayals of the mega-rich villain decades ago.

"Comic book writers have given Lex Luthor a variety of motivations and relatable personality traits over the past few decades, all in an effort to make the figure not one of pure evil, but a man whose goals could be understood by actual human beings," the analysis read.

"The bottom line is that fans looking to previous film appearances of Luthor are likely seeing versions of the character that Snyder and Goyer aren't too interested in copying. And if they're pointing to the source material that those versions of the character drew from, Snyder and Goyer have shown they're not doing the same," Dyce added.

Based on Snyder's statements, it appears he is indeed going to show a different, more complex Lex - one that would need an actor like Jesse to bring to life.
