If you had pit bull as big as Hulk, the 175-pound canine touted to be the biggest of its breed in the world, you probably will go to sleep at night unworried about intruders.

However, the same cannot be said if he's hanging around small children, which is the case for Hulk.

Astonishingly, the huge dog is still a puppy at 17 months old.

"Hulk's owners and breeders Marlon and Lisa Grennan say their family dog is 100 per cent trustworthy around their 3-year-old son Jordan," The Huffington Post Canada said. "Hulk loves kids, plays in the snow and appreciates a good petting, and although he may be banned in the U.K., his owners say he's just part of the family."

"A dog the size of the Hulk could kill someone if it was in the wrong situation at the wrong time. The power of this dog is unrivalled. If he bit down on someone's arm with full power it would snap like a toothpick," Mr. Grennan explained to The Telegraph. "But he doesn't have that kind of mentality. These dogs are very balanced and gentle - they are nanny dogs."

Although that may be hard to believe, Mr. Grennan backs his revelation with years of experience training dogs. He, together with his wife, runs Dark Dynasty K9s, a dog training business that "focuses on training elite guard dogs including pit bulls," The Huffington Post said. His business, based in New Hampshire, supplies protection canines to law enforcement outfits around the globe, as well as celebrities and billionaires.

"Marlon, a former boxer, formed the company ten years ago with just two dogs, after suffering a hand injury which ended his career," MailOnline said. "They now own more scores of dogs, many who live in the house with the family on a sprawling 150-acre ranch."

"These include more than more than a dozen highly trained pit bulls - and a single chihuahua," the publication added.

Despite the presence of these huge dogs, Mr. Grennan's son "has grown up with them within arm's reach," The Telegraph said.

"They go through enormous amounts of training and are more used to going up against multiple grown men and hearing loud noises. So the little things a kid might do to startle a regular dog isn't going to phase ours at all," explained Mrs. Grennan.

Hulk, obviously the biggest of the lot, has a 28-inch wide head and is about three times larger than the average American pit bull terrier.

"A dog like Hulk can cost you anywhere from $2,500 to $25,000. I have one of his sons who might be sold for $30,000 just based on who he is, what he does and who we are," Mr. Grennan shared.

"But I would never consider selling Hulk. I've been offered $200,000, $250,000, $500,000. You could throw ten million in front of me and I'd throw it right back at you. The dog is priceless, period," he said.

Mr. Grennan went on to talk about the misconceptions people have of pit bulls.

"No matter what the breed it is, it is hundred per cent how you raise them. The main thing with us is the level of care we put into these dogs. We are dogs, we live and breathe this world every single day, so the amount of care that goes into it is like nothing else in the world," he explained.
